Sanding & Buffing: Encore robotic sanding and buffing systems utilize the Encore multi-headed tool as well as off the shelf sanding equipment to provide robotic sanding and/or buffing to the full exterior surface of vehicles as well as vehicle components/parts: The Encore system integrates automatic paper changers to remove, replace and validate paper changes. Dust removal systems can also be integrated to remove residual material left behind the sanding process. Encore systems offer automatic tool change capabilities to provide additional flexibility for the sanding process. When combined with defect detection the entire process of seek and finesse can be totally automated.
A replacement for traditional melt sheets or bitumen mats, liquid-applied sound deadener material or LASD is a rubber-based acoustic insulating material that is sprayed onto car bodies prior to the sealer oven. It significantly reduces the noises transmitted via vibrating metal in the vehicle. TKS offers a proprietary high-pressure water spray technology to clean car bodies of weld balls and iron dust prior to the film build processes. A clean car body is critical to a quality surface finish. TKS’ electrical engineering department works with many manufacturers including Spang, Controlled Power, and more. TKS provides a variety of types of anodes: solid, flushing, roof-, wall-, and floor-mounted. We also design and provide the anolyte system. We have recently updated our Dry Booth design to reduce maintenance and decrease operating costs via less limestone and less energy usage. Our wet booth scrubbers has been installed over 100 times worldwide.
TKS designs and builds several industrial ovens for paint drying and paint cure, including: ED oven, Sealer oven, Primer oven, and Topcoat (TC) Oven. These industrial ovens can operate for 30+ years with typical oven burner and fan maintenance. The oven is typically preceded by a setting tunnel to allow the solvent-borne clear coat a few minutes to flash in a controlled room temperature environment prior to entering the oven’s first heat-up zone where the water within the waterborne paint begins to flash off.
